Dabur is India's largest Ayurvedic medicine and related products manufacturer. Dabur was founded in 1884 by Dr. SK Burman, a physician in West Bengal, to produce and dispense Ayurvedic medicines. German company Fresenius SE bought a 73.27% equity stake in Dabur Pharma in June 2008. 

Dabur operates in such a way which not only generates an attractive return for shareholders, but will also minimize impact on the environment and helps in replenishing the planet, while lending a helping hand to the community.

The company's policy aims to:

  • Ensure socio-economic development of the community through different participatory and need- based initiatives in the best interest of the poor and deprived sections of the society so as to help them to become Self-Reliant and build a better tomorrow for themselves.
  • Ensure environmental sustainability through ecological conservation and regeneration, protection & re growth of endangered plant species, and promote biodiversity

All CSR activities under the four main focus areas are in line with the company's stated Vision and Mission, focused not just around plants and offices, but also in other geographies based on the needs of the communities.

    • Main objective of this programme is to form Self Help Groups / micro credit groups and link these SHG’s with credit institutions. These credit groups are motivated to utilize the savings for economic betterment. For this they are also given training on various income generation activities such as mushroom cultivation, cutting and tailoring, bee keeping, food preservation etc.
    • Sundesh is implementing these programmes in Dhoulana block of Ghaziabad district. Self help groups have been formed and are functioning in Chouna, Tatarpur, Hindalpur, Nidori, Nidhawali, Shoulana, Samana, Ikla, Khera, Basatpur, Bahazra, Kurd, Kandala, Narayanpur Banska Malik, Narayanpur Banska,Nagla Gazzu, Sagnawat, Dhoulana, Naraina, Kichera, Piplera, Iqla, Nagla Udayram, Fagota, Dhera, and Kamrudin Nagar.
